UM Moon Chun Memorial College holds lecture on archives and manuscripts of Kong Tac Lam Temple and UNESCO Memory of the World Register

Moon Chun Memorial College (MCMC) of the University of Macau (UM), in collaboration with the Macau Documentation and Information Society and Kong Tac Lam Temple, held a lecture titled ‘Women’s Buddhist College—Archives and Manuscripts of Kong Tac Lam Temple and UNESCO Memory of the World Register’ at Kong Tac Lam Temple in Macao. The speaker was Dr Helen Hoi Keng Ieong, president of the Macau Society of Social Sciences, director of the Macau Documentation and Information Society, and adjunct assistant professor at UM.

 

With the support of Kong Tac Lam Temple, Cheung Kwok Cheung, college master of MCMC; Mai Zhicheng, director of the Working Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in Xiqiao Town, Nanhai District, Foshan City and chairperson of the Xiqiao Town Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Zhang Wenyuan, secretary-general of the Xiqiao Town Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; and Peggy Lau, resident fellow of MCMC, along with 12 students, examined over 6,000 cultural artefacts at Kong Tac Lam Temple, the first Buddhist college for women in the Lingnan region.
