A delegation of 26 students from the Morningside Culture China Scholars Program of Zhejiang University (ZJU), led by instructor Zhang Yanfei, visited Chao Kuang Piu College (CKPC) of the University of Macau (UM) on 8 February 2025.
During the visit, the ZJU delegation toured the college facilities under the guidance of CKPC student ambassadors. Lau Yun Tung, college master of CKPC, then gave the delegation an overview of UM’s distinctive residential college system, CKPC’s educational philosophy, diverse activities, and flagship programmes—providing a fresh perspective for those unfamiliar with residential college life. In recounting his academic journey, Dr Lau also shared insights into the changing dynamics of the times, China’s remarkable advancements in scientific research as well as the ‘major changes unseen in a century’ and the thriving development of China’s higher education sector. He concluded with the words of Liang Wenfeng, founder of DeepSeek and alumnus of ZJU, ‘The catalyst for AI advancement is the persistent curiosity and dedication of young minds’.
CKPC has been one of ZJU’s key partners in the Morningside Culture China Scholars Program for the past decade, and has been involved in organising study tours, visits, and exchange activities under the programme. The college will visit ZJU in mid-April for further exchanges and cooperation.
