The Me to We Leadership Adventure Programme (MTW), launched by Chao Kuang Piu College (CKPC) of the University of Macau (UM), conducted the first phase of its Community Engagement Project with Escola Dom João Paulino on 21 and 22 March 2025. Led by the MTW team, a group of primary school students participated in a series of outdoor experiential learning activities focused on nature.

The MTW team, in collaboration with teachers from Escola Dom João Paulino, led Primary Six students through an outdoor experiential learning programme at the Hac Sa Youth Activity Development Base and Cheoc Van Youth Hostel under the Education and Youth Development Bureau. The programme covered Macao’s geology, climate, ecosystems, and astronomy. In addition to meeting the requirements of basic academic attainments for primary education, the programme aimed to teach students how to interact with people and nature, and to enhance their interpersonal skills, ecological awareness, and appreciation of life, thus promoting their physical and mental development.

Outdoor education serves as an extension of classroom learning, with a focus on engaging students in exploring the relationship between humans and the natural environment through real-world encounters. Designed and organised by educational institutions and outdoor education professionals, these experiential learning activities create student-centred environmental learning experiences.
